View > Page Source makes use as a graphic element the structuring html code with which pornographic web sites are constructed. Visually manipulated imagery downloaded from such sites, scenes from Foto-novelas*, and other imagery are combined to bring the phenomena of pornography-online into view from a distinct perspective. The work is not intended to be a moralizing agent; rather, as a still-image -- outside of the Internet -- it participates as a critical intervention by negating the possibility of clicking, the titillation of the-next-download, and asks of the viewer for a closer examination of the visual information that is presented and how this information is processed – how the interface and content are designed to target a multiplicity of unfulfilled desires each user brings.

Ultimately one wonders how this type of “interaction”, point-and-click technology, affects the user’s understanding of their desires and their sense of intimacy in a “analog” situation…

* Foto-novelas - are a popular "real-life comic-book" form of storytelling which combine a written story line with scene-by-scene illustrations.
